On the Back of an Envelope
Back in 2005 our founders Jamie and Anna (just two regular job seekers) had an ambitious idea to challenge an industry that despite the advent of new technology hadn’t evolved.
In the same way travel, retail, banking had moved online the recruitment agency was still very much a bricks and mortar industry.
After extensive research and support from from advisors, investors and celebrated business leaders it was unanimous. Companies like yours were desperate for a new low cost recruitment solution.
The Big Idea
With some fresh thinking and by building some technology the UK’s first online recruitment agency was born. The goal was to deliver the best bits of an agency model minus all the things the industry had got a bad rep for – the endless sales calls, talking-up candidates and of course the biggest gripe, the high fees.
Despite this innovation we didn’t launch to a fanfare. Whilst the likes of The BBC, Business Press and a full page feature in the Independent covered us the people who wanted change were sceptical. “How can you fill my Marketing Manager role for such a low fixed fee”? Well, we did and then slowly but surely the masses came. The “Recruitment Revolution” had begun.
