Up to 70,000 + bonus (discretionary)

40 per week from 08:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday

With a head office based centrally in Birmingham, we are the leading provider of vehicle inspection, collection & delivery services within the automotive supply chain on a nationwide basis. Typically operating at end of vehicle contract we inspect & collect in excess of 600,000 vehicles per annum making us the largest provider of these services within the sector with further growth planned.

The Role:

We are looking to appoint a Head of Operations, with the primary focus of the role to manage a logistics operation that underpins the single move and inspection activity within the business operations.

Commercially astute, you will have a sharp eye for optimisation of costs as well as a track record in customer service and operational delivery.

As Head of Operations you will be responsible for driving change and continuous improvement through a strong management team and structure, based on embracing the brand's core values.

The role would be office based located at our head office in Birmingham.

Main Responsibilities:

+ Leadership and coaching – performance management and culture, succession planning, safe working, resource utilisation, forecasting resourcing levels
+ Providing continuous improvement within the operation, evolving the existing operating model
+ Drive controlled and measured change within the operation, creating the agility and flexibility within the operation to adapt
+ Motivating and developing employees to ensure we build strength in depth and an environment for success.
+ Communication and reporting – communication channels across operations, monthly reporting on vital performance, develop reporting infrastructure
+ Identify and create new initiatives to exploit opportunities for change which achieve continuous improvement and ultimately a cost efficient operation.
+ Operational Finance – operational budgets, capital projects, accountability for the achievement of budgets across operations
+ Operations – developing process and policies, identify risks and threats, improve planning and processes, ensure consistency, identify improvements, develop new projects and expansion activities, direct logistic functions, legal and risk compliance
+ Analyse the financial impact of proposed logistics changes

Essential Criteria:

+ Strong leadership with the ability to drive change
+ Exceptional management & communication skills to be able to lead a large team across a diverse logistical arrangement
+ Possess drive and enthusiasm to deliver constant continuous improvement
+ Highly motivated and proactive, enjoying leading as well as working as a team, whilst also taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results.
+ Commercially orientated and have the ability to liaise across all functions and at all levels of the business
+ Driving change and operational excellence
+ Evidence of business impact and achievement
+ Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
+ Dedicated and ambitious, able to handle high work demands
+ Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
+ Excellent project management and time management
+ 5 years’ minimum experience and a proven track record
