The Head of Strategic Marketing Role:

The purpose of the Head of Strategic marketing is to secure large contract / tender partnerships, through the development and delivery of innovative, strategic bid submissions and marketing initiatives.

Bid submissions in our sector require a solid understanding of marketing, technology, the education sector, and our own award winning work. Predominantly this role will be responsible for selecting, writing, and submitting bids in the USA (75%), UK and EU (25%).

Working closely with the Bid Manager. The role will also ensure our own marketing and award submissions address the needs of our clients and the unique challenges of the education sector, whilst generating thought leadership pieces that generate interest from new prospective clients, globally.

This role will work in parallel to the Head of Marketing, who will be primarily responsible for leading our direct response / demand generation team.

Key Accountabilities:

+ Prospecting Potential Tender Clients
+ Sourcing New Potential Tenders
+ Own Full Bid Process with support from the Bid Manager
+ Manage Pitch Process
+ Contracts – liaise with internal stakeholders for contracts won, and lead lessons learnt and wash up process if contracts lost
+ Share experience and strategic knowledge across the company, outside of current client base

Knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience:

+ Extensive knowledge and experience of bid writing and bid process
+ Knowledge and experience of submitting bids within the education sector, especially for HE institutions
+ Business knowledge – understanding of agency processes and service offering
+ Experience of working in a commercially focused environment
+ Strong understanding of marketing and positioning
+ Proven track record of winning bids
+ Comfortable with a high level of autonomy
+ Excellent organisation skills
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
+ Commercial acumen
+ Financially literate
+ Proficient at advanced business systems
+ The ability to keep objectives and goals firmly in sight
