The Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team based in Middlesbrough.
You will be required to carry out engineering activities within the department and work generated by the engineering CMMS in order of priority against criticality.
You will install/repair/maintain/inspect, mechanical/electrical plant, equipment & services to satisfactory standards
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
+ The satisfactory timely completion of site specific preventative maintenance tasks within the CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) including A, B & C scheme inspections and proof testing
+ The satisfactory updating of the CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) within the department, generating engineering KPI’s from the CMMS
+ Respond quickly to any requests from production regarding mechanical or electrical faults
+ The satisfactory installation/repair/maintenance/ inspection of plant & equipment
+ Deputise in the absence of the Engineering Supervisor and fulfil all necessary associated duties
+ Ensure a safety first approach is applied to every job undertaken
+ Notify the Engineering Supervisor of any problems associated with projects
+ Notify the Engineering Supervisor of any problems associated with plant & equipment
+ Maintain security of tools/equipment & company property
+ Ensure tools/equipment & company property are maintained in good condition
+ Maintain security of any company vehicles & FLTs assigned to the engineering function
+ Ensure any company assets assigned to the engineering function are maintained in good condition
+ Co-operate on all matters concerned with any Health, safety, training, legislative and environmental issues
+ Operate all plant/equipment/tools in a safe manner
+ Ensure compliance to all engineering procedures, EHS quality and responsible care procedures
+ Deal with customers in a helpful and friendly manner
+ Ensure all service reports, inspection documentation & inspection reports are uploaded in a timely manner into the engineering drive
+ Ensure all necessary training is kept up to date
About You:
The successful candidate would be time served with a four- or five-year apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
Compex trained and COMAH experience are both desirable but not necessary.
