The Sales Estimator Role:
As a Sales Estimator you will be the first point of contact for our new sales department and will be responsible for receiving enquiries, liaising with customers by telephone, sending out estimates and following them up to the point of sale. The role will include some general administration duties and dealing with installers to complete customer satisfaction.
A confident telephone manner with a methodical approach to your work, verbal skills with good computer skills and some knowledge of our sector are of utmost importance.
+ Prepare cost estimates using Microsoft Excel.
+ Create quotations using computer software such as Excel, Word and the company’s ERP system.
+ Utilise the company’s ERP and in-house quote system to extract and gather data.
+ Review earlier estimates/orders to identify pricing history
+ Liaise with external suppliers to obtain quotations or re-validate costs, as required.
+ Liaise with the Operations team to undertake make/buy analysis, if required.
+ Liaise with Programmes and Engineering teams to obtain support hours costing.
+ Lead the internal review and approval process of cost estimates.
+ Undertake administrative duties such as organising sessions and meetings to support internal review and approval process.
+ Prepare handover files for the Project Manager
+ Examine tender documents and RFQs for completeness.
+ Coordinate with bid leads to develop a schedule of key dates for individual estimates, estimate requirements and bid strategy.
+ Sales background including telesales experience
+ Excellent numeracy skills
+ Keen attention to detail
+ Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams)
+ Be able to multi-task and finish tasks against tight deadlines
+ Be detailed, methodical and thorough
+ Be organised and flexible with workload
+ Be a clear, concise and open communicator able to work closely with other departments to obtain information.
+ Must be a proactive team player, with a positive ‘can do' attitude.
