Company: Global Distributor of chemicals & ingredients used in everyday products
We have an exciting opportunity for an SDS Author to join the team.
In this role you will report to the Senior SDS Author and will validate and create chemical hazard communications and accurate Safety Data Documents, including the introduction of SDS for new and amended products
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assistance in the migration of SDS to the new SDS software
+ Assistance with the update of safety data on the company computer system
+ Coordination of the issue of Safety Data Sheets within agreed timescales
+ Update of Safety Data Documents for own branded and multi-sourced products
+ The timely update of SDS to CLP rules
+ Revision of European generated SDS
+ Liaison with suppliers to resolve issues on classification differences of similar products
+ Maintenance of safety information on the company computer system
+ Maintenance of the Company SDS Library
+ Development of exposure scenarios where required for ESDS
+ Utilise departmental IT resources effectively
+ Comply with safety notices
+ Comply with all Quality procedures
+ Co-operate on all matters concerned with any health, safety, training, legislative and environmental matters
+ Involvement with Poison Centre Notifications within Europe
About You:
+ Have 2 years+ previous experience in the use of SDS authoring software and the compilation of SDSs for Europe and UK
+ A UK resident and currently living in the UK
+ Have the right to work in the UK – an offer of employment is subject to satisfactory proof of this
+ Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and familiarity with the ECHA website
+ Have a deep knowledge of EU CLP regulation, REACH regulation and an understanding of the effects of Brexit on UK chemical regulations
+ Knowledge and experience of Poison Centre Notifications
+ Excellent communicator who can request and query information in a professional and respectful manner
+ Care deeply about delivering a world class service
+ A conscientious team player who can also work on their own initiative
+ Diligent with a great attention to detail
+ Someone who is keen to continually develop their career
