We are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Support / Service Advisor (ideally with an Engineering background) to join our operation in Alton, Hampshire. If you have demonstrable customer facing / service skills, good technical skills and are self-motivated and enthusiastic we'd love to hear from you.

Technical Support / Service Advisor – Agricultural / Groundcare Equipment Supply & Service
Alton, GU34 | £25,000 – £32,000 + Bonus + Overtime

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

About Us

We are ideally located in the South Downs National park, situated in Hampshire and bordering both West Sussex and Surrey. We supply an impressive range of products for smallholders and compact tractor owners. These range from mowing equipment, groundcare items and a wide variety of other machinery.

The Technical Support (Engineer) / Service Advisor Role:

Description of Duties:

+ After-Sales Support

– First point of call for customers with issues
– Investigation, diagnosis, and repair of customers equipment
– Visits to customers to repair or replace faulty machines
– Recording problems and liaising with relevant department / supplier
– Advising on warranty issues
– Advising the customer and organising any follow-up action

+ Quarantine and Fault Reporting

– Running the machine quarantine system
– Logging and processing faults
– Reporting faulty equipment to manufacturers
– Organising replacement parts and machines

+ Spare Parts

– Identifying and recording incoming spare parts
– Relocation of spare parts
– Ordering of spare parts / liaison with suppliers
– Identifying spare parts and quoting customers
– Keeping the spares department clean and tidy

+ Manuals

– Keeping manuals up to date and reporting any discrepancies

+ Workshop / Sales Office Support
– Support during busy periods

+ Other Customer Service related tasks as required

Our ideal Technical Support / Service Advisor:

+ A technical / engineering qualification
+ Confidence in speaking to customers on the phone or face to face
+ Experience in working with agricultural machinery
+ An interest in all things mechanical, can weld / grind etc
+ Good office skills such as Excel / Word
+ Attention to detail
+ The motivation to work alone at times
+ Working in a technical customer service role
+ Working for similar Agricultural Machinery companies or car dealership service department or engineering company in customer service or technical sales
