We are on the lookout for a Transport Service Delivery Manager who will seek out and capitalise on increased efficiency opportunities and attain the agreed external service levels (OTIF) at budgeted cost.

You will provide effective training and development of staff to fully realise their potential and work with the Transport Management Team to further develop the Transport Planning function working with a number of key stakeholders.

You will execute the company’s strategy for optimising transport to achieve the company’s goals with a common approach between sites within your region.

What you’ll deliver day-to-day:

+ Refine the centralised transport planning function for the UK transport operation.
+ Review existing processes with a view to enhance performance through process change initiatives.
+ Identify and implement transport planning improvements through OTM and standardisation of best practice along with the monitoring that all shipments are planned in OTM and data is accurate
+ Recommend to the Head of Transport ways in which the company can improve profitability and operating effectiveness.
+ Through leadership and active involvement ensure compliance to Statutory requirements, Quality procedures, Responsible care, Insurance requirements, and Company policy statements including employment and disciplinary procedures.
+ Co-operate on all matters concerned with Health, Safety, Training, Legislation and the Environment
+ Work closely with EHS & Quality departments to ensure ongoing compliance to all applicable standards and legal requirements

About You:

+ You are a UK resident and currently living in the UK.
+ You have the right to work in the UK – an offer of employment is subject to satisfactory proof of this.
+ You are a leader that promotes teamwork and takes his/her people to new behaviours
+ You have strong analytical skills and extensive ERP (SAP preferred) experience
+ You are fluent in English. Another European language is a plus
+ You have a relevant and successful working experience in planning, transport and leading people across multiple locations, chemical experience is a plus
+ You are sensitive for risks in the logistics chain and controls to mitigate risks
+ You have good communication skills, can operate at different levels within the organization and have understanding of working in an international environment and working cross borders
+ You are able to increase scope and efficiency and be part of international teams
+ Ability to adjust in a fast moving environment, self-starter and initiative to start improvements
+ Ability to lead a team on a step of change
+ Practical judgement and ability to overcome obstacles
