Hours: Rotating Rota – Week 1 and 2: 7am – 3.30pm / Week 3 and 4: 9.30am – 6pm / Saturday (1 in 3) 8am – 1pm

The Vehicle Service Technician role:

As a Service Technician, you will perform a variety of workshop work in an efficient and safe manner including performing MOT tests. The aim is to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.

What your day might look like:

+ Undertaking Class IV MOT tests.
+ Performing routine servicing of vehicles in accordance with brand technical standards.
+ Undertaking air-conditioning system servicing and repairs.
+ Working in accordance with brand and dealership processes.
+ Ensuring that the working environment is kept clean and devoid of any working practice which may be hazardous.
+ Diagnosing and undertaking general repairs to vehicles including MOT repairs.
+ Performing diagnostic investigations into vehicle electrical system faults, providing reports on faults found.
+ Carrying out welding repairs to vehicles.
+ Obtaining estimates and ordering car parts in order to resolve the vehicle issues.
+ Liaising with customers where appropriate updating them on the status of their vehicle checks.

About you:

+ Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation.
+ Highly skilled in fault diagnosis and hold the relevant MOT Tester qualification.
+ Ability to work as part of a team.
+ Commitment to delivering first class customer service.
+ Able to plan, organise self and meet agreed work deadlines.
