The Registered Nurse Opportunities:

We are currently recruiting for Registered Nurses for our care homes across our West London, Southall and Greenford. The role holders will be responsible for the health, safety and well being of all the residents in the home whilst on duty.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Care Delivery:

> To act as a role model delivering person centred care in line with the care plan ensuring that needs are
met.
> To carry out Pre admission assessment and develop initial care plans
> Maintaining & updating care plans / assessments for residents
> Responsible for the administration of medication in accordance with prescriptions and NMC The code
and company medication administration, storage & disposal policy
> Responsible of all clinical nursing aspects of care according to residents needs
> To assess and act appropriately in a medical emergency
> To assist & promote social activities and to encourage and support residents participation
> To ensure that the residents have access to key medical, social and other multi disciplinary team
members
> To maintain accurate, factual & legible documentation whilst on duty regarding individual residents, which is signed & dated
> To order & maintain adequate levels of medical, disposable & continence products.

Staff Supervision:

> To delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure a high quality of care delivery
> To carry-out supervision and appraisal of staff aimed at developing the skills of staff so that they can meet the residents needs and that of the care home
> To induct staff appropriately to company Policies and Procedures, carrying out regular induction reviews and ensuring that staff receives appropriate training and development to enable them to carry out their role.
> To supervise & /or mentor a group of staff on a regular basis.

Record Keeping:

> To maintain accurate factual & legible records of staff supervision and practical observations.
> To keep factual & legible records of care delivery with each entry signed and dated.
> To keep accurate records of medications prescribed, ordered, administered or disposed off with each entry signed and dated.
> To write care plans and carry out risk assessments in partnership with residents, next of kin or
representative and other professionals, agreeing risk reduction plans with them.
> To carry out and record assessments pre and post admission to the home.
> To verify & sign timesheets at the end of each shift,
> maintain duty rota and record any changes that occur, ensuring adequate staff cover for subsequent shifts
> To record and report any complaints.

Health and Safety:

> To work within Health and Safety guidelines.
> To raise or act upon any health and Safety issues that arise & keep the manager & health & safety representative informed
> To develop, follow and review risk assessment plans
> To monitor & record Health and Safety within the home

Quality assurance:

> To carry out regular clinical audits to ensure high standard of care delivery

Other Responsibilities:

> To arrange and participate in formal care reviews.
> To attend scheduled staff meetings.
> To supervise & assist at meal times
> Administration of petty cash & residents finances following company Housing care Finance policy
> To attend & maintain all mandatory training and to ensure that they maintain their own PREP according
to the NMC “The code.”
> To communicate effectively & professionally.
> To maintain all aspects of confidentiality
> To have a good understanding of different cultural and religious needs.
> To work flexibly to meet the needs of the home.
> To attend & participate in supervision at least six times a year.

Essential Required Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS

> 1st level NMC registered Nursing qualification appropriate to the service

> Care needs of older people

> Human rights of individuals
> NMC The Code and guidelines
> Safe guarding adults
> Role of CQC
