We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Middlesbrough.

The Electrical Engineer role:

As Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the application of electrical safety requirements and for the development and application of electrical technical procedures across all company sites.

Playing a key role in the maintenance department, you will be working alongside the Mechanical Engineer and acting as deputy for the Electrical Manager. We are looking for an experienced individual who has worked in heavy industry or chemical industry, with a hands-on attitude to supervise and carry out electrical maintenance work activities to ensure optimal long-term availability of all plants, preservation of all assets and ensure Health Safety and Environmental obligations are met along with financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Developing and implementing technical procedures and instructions
+ Providing expert resource for the assessment of deferred maintenance, defects and corrective maintenance activities on electrical equipment.
+ Supervising or training electrical maintenance team members
+ Monitoring and maintaining records of authorised persons, and their associated training and competence records, utilising existing company systems as required
+ Liaising with subcontractors and specialists as necessary
+ Supporting design review activities, safety review processes and inter-discipline coordination
+ Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems
+ Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
+ Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed electrical calculations
+ Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
+ Providing emergency response support as required

We Are Looking For:

+ Time served with a four- or five-year apprenticeship or work experience in electrical engineering
+ Qualified to HNC Electrical Engineering
+ Strong understanding of Requirements for Electrical Installations / Regulations (18th Edition)
+ Knowledge and experience of fault finding on PLC / SCADA systems
+ Experience in Chemical / Heavy industry with Supervisory experience
+ Computer competent, CMMS systems, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams
+ Knowledge and competence with reading electrical drawings, process and control diagrams
+ Experienced in the installation of electrical control systems including AC / DC Drives, Variable Frequency Drives, closed loop control with positioning systems
+ Able to coordinate and supervise work activities for the electrical and contractor personnel
+ Compex training and COMAH experience are both desirable but not necessary
